Self-harming behaviors continue to be a major issue in the world. This is particularly true for young people, whose self-harm rates exceed those for adults. Research shows that self-harming behaviors frequently start in adolescence and are particularly frequent in a repressive home environment. On the other hand, suicide is an act of taking own life intentionally. Recent studies show men are five times more likely to die from suicide than women but a number of attempts are in the case of women. Most commonly it is done by hanging, cutting, burning, drug overdose, etc. There are various therapeutic methods used in the treatment of suicidal behavior and self-harm that may include medications and therapy management.
